This journal is like a high school and half the classes you take at college. You will learn things you won't ever need to know.

I've been enjoying a book called "Do Penguins have knees?" which asks a lot of questions that don't have clear answers but readers just wonder and ponder about them. Authors do some research then are able to answer them (sometimes bringing in new questions).
So since I needed a new journal (BTW thanks for the new CSS layout, Denny! I love it! It matches my DEV ID and my awesome IS penguin monk clothes.)
So here we go with the educating!
First of all, yes penguins do have knees just like other birds. Theirs are just more hidden under their feathers. Their legs may drag on the land, but they are propellers in the water!
- Why were gunfights fought at dawn? Wouldn't they want a good nights sleep before they die? They fought at dawn because neither man could have the sun advantage. Also this was the time that the local police were usually not around (same reason why many crimes are commiyted during times when police are changing shifts) so their fight could go without interference.
- Why do birds often stand on only one leg? (I have 2 pet birds and believe me they do it a lot )
Birds like to stand on one foot because their legs are only place without feathers and they need to keep body heat by sticking their legs in their feathers. This is also why they sleep by burying their beak in their wings.
It's also to give rest, since birds are always on their feet even to sleep.
- What do Mosquitos during the day?If its dark enough, they are biting someone. They do all their activities (feeding, mating etc) at night within their 2 hour span of activity. So what do they do for the other 22 hours? Well the authors have no clue and couldn't answer and said that its probably a future title for their next book.
- Why does a doctor ask a guy to turn head and cough when feeling for hernia?Cough - it's the fastest way to release abdomen pressure needed to feel for a bulge that could be hernia. (Really short answer, it's a bit more complicated than that. )
Turn - The doctor doesn't want yucky germs in his or her face.
- What exactly are the liberal arts? "'liberating' as in enabling the student to develop his or her potential beyond the mundane, to create, to be fully human, to obtain, to believe"
Long answer short: the irrelevant classes that have nothing to do with what you are studying.
- How does a bus driver get inside the bus if the door is opened from inside? The emergency exit.
Non book answer: I actually seen a bus driver enter through the window before. He was young and skinny though, so its probably not the most common method since most bus drivers I've seen are more on the chubby side.
